Footgolf is essentially golf, but instead of using clubs and balls to hit the ball into a hole, people kick soccer balls towards 9-inch cups. It was developed in the Netherlands about 10 years ago, with the first instance of it being played with footgolf goals (holes) measuring at 70 yards apart. Since then, however, the game has evolved to use regular 18-hole courses like most other sports (basketball courts).
