Through the ‘Add Your Hands’ initiative and with the support of more than one hundred volunteers from companies, divers, community and tourists.

A complete success was the solid waste collection day in Cabo de la Vela where more than one hundred people participated with a single purpose: contribute voluntarily to the protection of the seas, contribute to the conservation of pastures and sea turtles. The initiative was led by the Suma Tus Manos alliance and had the support and backing of Corpoguajira.

Members of the Wayuú indigenous community, Volunteer divers from different parts of the country and staff from several of the organizations joined the call where companies such as Cerveza Corona participated, Serviantega, Pavements Colombia, Hotel Waya Guajira, Grupo Familia Foundation and the Strategies for Life Foundation. Help 2 Oceans Foundation, who supported the operational and preparation part with the diver participants, Interaseo supporting the management of collected waste and also Corporación Entrégate a Colombia, Measurement Matters, Carolina Reaper, Global Compact Red Colombia, the General José María Córdova Military School for Cadets, Departmental Tourism Directorate, Civil Defense and the General Maritime and Coast Guard Directorate of the Colombian Navy.

It should be noted that on this occasion both maritime and beach line cleaning was carried out and all biosafety protocols were complied with due to Covid 19.
