The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), he said 2015, as the International Year of Soils, for being an important resource that constitutes the basis for food, fuels, fibers and medical products; They are also essential for ecosystems, playing a fundamental role in the carbon cycle, storing and filtering water, and improving resilience to floods and droughts.
