3.2 TONS OF SOLID WASTE WERE REMOVED FROM THE FOUR-WAY TOURIST HALL

The cleaning day was carried out within the framework of the campaign ‘On the road for life’.

3.2 tons of solid waste were removed from the Cuatro Vías tourist inn during the cleaning day that was carried out within the framework of the campaign ‘On the road for life’ proposed by the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira and the Highways Concession.

Clearance, despapel, Awareness raising and proper disposal of solid waste were the activities that were developed in the place that has sheltered restaurant owners and stationary vendors for more than 40 years old.

It should be noted that this activity is carried out within the framework of the commitment to improve environmental quality and safeguard the lives of drivers and pedestrians on the Santa Marta - Paraguachón highway, gradually eliminating more than 17 identified open dumps, – since 4 roads to Paraguachón-, that impede the visibility of the important road and also generate frequent car accidents.

The event was attended by the Mayor's Office, the Risk Management and Technical Cleaning Office of Maicao; Interaseo, National Police and Corpoguajira; ANI and Highway Concession; stationary vendors, local business and restaurant owners.

Similarly, The Association of Recyclers of Maicao was present, made by 153 properly organized environmental reclaimers, who were an example of integration and acceptance of the two nations: Colombia and Venezuela.

Corpoguajira, Mayor of Maicao, Cerrejón and Interaseo undertook the commitment of training for three months on the subject of proper solid waste management to stationary vendors and restaurant owners of the place whose knowledge will be certified, the training spaces will start next Thursday 22 of July.
