604 HECTARES conserved across Bank2

Bank2 is a strategy of payment for environmental services, with which companies and individuals can measure their carbon footprint and compensate with money, which will be received by families who are part of the program and are dedicated to caring for natural resources.

Nowadays, 21 families empowered in the protection of natural resources, located in the Cerro Bañaderos and Serranía de Perijá Integrated Management Districts; and Dry Forests in the Rio Ancho and Rio Cañas reservoirs, covering the municipalities of Barrancas, Hatonuevo, Fonseca and Riohacha.

This strategy also allows conserving the habitat of important fauna species:
