ORANGE ALERT FOR FLOODS IN LA GUAJIRA

Corpoguajira is allowed to report that the past 9 May in a meeting held with the Risk Management Department of La Guajira, Ideas, SAT, Red Cross and main government entities in the departmental crisis room, An orange alert was declared due to the floods that occurred in the river basins last weekend and the projected forecasts for the next two weeks. The main damages occurred in the Cesar rivers, San Francisco, Rancheria, Caña­verakes, Tápias and Jeréz and in the respective neighboring communities of each. The forecast for the next two weeks maintains a recommendation of an orange alert to emergency authorities and the community in general, rains are expected to be very heavy with thunderstorms and very high probability of flooding of rivers, des­bordamientos, palisades and / or avalanches that descend from the Sierra Nevada and the Serranía Del Perijá, Therefore, it is recommended to have a permanent surveillance of the Ranchería rivers, Caña­verales, Villanueva, El Molino, Jerez, Tapias, Reeds and Palomino, from its birth to its mouth.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
