JOINT INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING ENVIRONMENTAL PERMIT AND TERRITORIAL

Seeking to strengthen the capacities of local authorities the formulation of land use plans - POT, Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, He presented the socialization of the project to strengthen environmental management and territorial, with which it seeks to provide advice and support to the municipal government in structuring this important planning tool.

The day was an anteroom to exercise that plans to develop, addressing the issue of new environmental determinants established by the corporation, with terms and conditions attached to ensure environmental sustainability of the aforementioned plans.

The above, considering that 2011 some areas that conditions should be taken into account for the conservation and protection were determined, areas of special environmental interest, in 2015 an update was made incorporating tropical dry forests; achievements together with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and UNDP product of a joint effort generating environmental guarantors for the 15 municipalities count on the basis of formulating their plans.

It can be noted that the municipality of La Jagua del Pilar has remained constant commitment throughout the process, managing to be the first municipality to make adjustments in the component of climate change and risk management, conducting workshops with Corporguajira giving as a result the approval of the relevant adjustments, in compliance with current national regulations.
