Recognizing the importance of the declaration of protected areas for the preservation, protection and conservation of biodiversity and strategic ecosystems in the region, It is necessary to propose comprehensive strategies for its proper administration and management., facts that allow a high degree of empowerment of both the institutions and the social actors linked to them and that promote co-responsibility in good use and care.
Therefore, Corpoguajira develops a project that contemplates the construction of care centers and passage spaces at the entrances to protected areas, These works will allow monitoring work to be carried out and at the same time will be a place of passage for visitors who wish to contemplate the fauna and flora that live there., through ecotourism where income is generated without causing impacts on ecosystems.
Environmental education is a key factor for the sustainability of this project, since through the knowledge acquired it will be possible to provide a better service to the visitor and better treatment to the species that live within the protected territory.; Community work to raise awareness among the inhabitants of the area will contribute to the effectiveness of the project.
Recognizing that the areas of the department are subject to pressure from exploitation, use and access to natural resources due to multiple factors that prevent environmental governance from being exercised by institutions whose mission is to protect and preserve, as is the case of Corpoguajira as the highest environmental authority.
The wooden structures will have all the environmentally friendly technical specifications., in the Ranchería River Delta DMI, DMI Serranía del Perijá, RFP Manantial de Cañaverales and the DMI Lower Basin of the Ranchería River.
Corpoguajira, based on the implementation of the management plans for the protected areas, has been making progress in strengthening their administration., in order to consolidate participatory management from the institutions with citizens, with an innovative approach to improve the offer of ecosystem services provided in the different habitats of the department.
