In La Guajira this strategy is carried out in the Ancho and Cañas river basins. Six CARs bet on the initiative that will reduce deforestation, in the same number of departments in the Caribbean, the Andes and the Colombian Pacific. The execution of the proposal is projected until 2019; Nevertheless, in a year and a half the sense of belonging and care in the community is evident, towards this ecosystem.

In this socialization of the progress of the execution of the project: Sustainable Uses of Dry Ecosystem Conservation, it became known that they are 200 hectares intervened for conservation. Likewise, the wide knowledge and recognition of the importance of the ecosystem and the determined commitment to its care and sustainable use was evidenced., by the inhabitants of the sector.
