CITIZEN HAS GIVEN A SNAKE A CORPOGUAJIRA

More guajiros are becoming aware of the importance of preserving wildlife in the region and that these species should remain in their natural habitat, not in captivity as domestic pets. Such was the case of Yadir Movil, who approached the headquarters of the Corporation to deliver a snake species Boa constrictor.

The Citizen reported that near his home, located in the village of Anaime, District jurisdiction Riohacha, he met young people who had cornered the animal trying to hurt and to recognize the species decided to take her home so it was not mistreated.

The snake was captive in his home for three weeks, in which he was under the care of him and his family. Yadir is aware of the species, therefore he was aware that his home was not the ideal habitat of the boa and for that reason decided to give it to Corpoguajira so that later she was released.

The reptile was taken to the house where ecology is currently under observation and being examined by specialists to later be rehabilitated or returned to their natural habitat, according suggest medical diagnosis.

In order to conserve wildlife and maintain the balance of biodiversity in La Guajira, from Corpoguajira we invite the community to deliver wild animals held captive as pets in their homes or farms.
