El Director General de la Corporación Autónoma Regional de la Guajira- CORPOGUAJIRA, el Secretario General, Subdirectores y Jefes de Oficina, acuerdan a partir del análisis, discussion and approval of the draft text of the Good Government Code, carried out according to Act No..008 of the Internal Control Coordination Committee of the day ( 4 ) December 2008, adopt autonomously, voluntary and proactive, the following code, after the following considerations:

a. That this document obeys, to our renewed commitment to the performance of the public function that we are responsible for exercising at the management level of our Corporation, with the aim of achieving management characterized by the principles of public life, the elements of ethics in public management and especially the principles enshrined in the article 209 of the Political Constitution of Colombia.

b. That the main purpose of adopting the Good Government Code of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, “CORPOGUAJIRA” aims to establish a catalog of conduct typical of public service at the management level and not to replicate disciplinary rules., fiscal and criminal that the Colombian system establishes as guiding parameters for people who hold public positions.

c. That the Code of Good Government, that we adopt as of this date is assumed with due responsibility for compliance with the Political Constitution, the laws and regulations applicable to our Entity, assuming the commitment to disseminate it to all public servants, collaborators and educate in its application and witness it in its execution.

d. That the Code of Good Government, that we adopted as of today is within the horizon of reaching, through good internal and external practices of corporate governance in the Corporation in our charge, of those parameters indicated in higher standards.

and. That the Good Government Code of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, “CORPOGUAJIRA” will play a pedagogical role in the exercise of our daily work, by promoting reflection on the practices of governing and managing the resources that are in our charge, promoting the adoption of behavioral parameters towards management integrity.
In this sense, We adopt the Good Government Code as an instrument to generate trust and credibility in the community that is nourished by our services., as well as, that of promoting best practices, avoid inappropriate behavior and facilitate accountability of our management to citizens.
