The work began at the headquarters of the Municipal Mayor's Office of San Juan del Cesar, with training in solid waste management, addressed to the officials of the company that provides the INTERASEO cleaning service, entity officials, Environmental police, the student community of the last year of secondary school at the El Carmelo Educational Institution, The Popular Life Foundation of Santo Tomas de Villanueva (FUNPOVISAN), media and road concession.

Playful and cleaning activities, They were carried out in the central area of ​​the town, and were coordinated by FUNPOVISAN.

As a result of this initiative, the community of San Juan del Cesar, reacted satisfactorily and was aware of the infractions they have committed in relation to Colombian environmental regulations, At the same time, they took a positive attitude towards change, creating a culture of cleanliness to improve their locality and area of ​​residence..

The people located around Juancho Rois Square, responded to the call made by Corpoguajira and FUNPOVISAN, who through the presentation of videos, slides, academic talks and recreational activities, They made reference to the sanctions described in the environmental report, tool that will function as an instrument of citizen culture, about the proper management of solid waste and debris, anticipating the effects on the environment and public health, through pedagogical and economic sanctions to all those natural or legal persons who violate the existing regulations on this matter.

The sanctions will begin to be imposed starting this semester, which will include environmental education sessions for offenders, provision of days of social service and fines of up to two current monthly minimum wages, for each violation. In the case of legal persons fines can be up to twenty monthly minimum wages. In relation to commercial establishments, buildings or factories, where breaches of hygiene regulations accrues and debris management, the violation of the law may result in the suspension or cancellation of registration or license.
