In this first approach workshop, leaders of Uribia, They recognized several difficulties they suffer due to the effects caused by the phenomenon of climate change, among them are the constant floods, loss of fish diversity, coastal erosion, loss of food security due to rains and droughts, inter.
The activity is part of the pilot project for adaptation to the effects of climate change in a desert area, which has the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Association of Regional Autonomous Corporations (ASOCARS), within the framework of strengthening institutional capacities, for the implementation of local Comprehensive Risk Management practices, as a measure of adaptation to climate change in the island and coastal area of the Colombian Caribbean.
CORPOGUAJIRA will provide support in the adjustments of the Territorial Planning Plans or Schemes of the municipalities in order to enable the inclusion of Comprehensive Risk Management in these., as a measure of adaptation to Climate Change and promotes the institutionalization of implementation from the awareness of civil society.
Additionally, an agenda of support and actions will be energized in front of the municipalities., within the framework of the integration of the National Environmental System, National Disaster Care and Prevention System and the strengthening of institutional capacities to prevent and respond to disasters in the region.
