Corpoguajira, National Parks and the city of Riohacha, develop programs to improve the quality of life of various communities Shrimp and promote ecotourism in the protected area.
The inhabitants of the Perratpu Indigenous Reservation and the Los Mangles visitor center (Los Flamencos Sanctuary – Shrimps), were benefited from the installation of two water desalination plants, which were delivered by Corpoguajira, National Natural Parks of Colombia and the Mayor's Office of Riohacha, to mitigate the problems of these communities in relation to basic sanitation and the supply of drinking water.
As part of the agenda, the release of two sea turtles on the beaches of Camarones was also carried out., act with which the Director of National Parks, Julia Miranda Londoño and the Mayor's Office of Riohacha; are linked as Corporate Sponsors of the conservation program “Sponsor a Turtle and Carry it in your Heart”.
The Director General of Corpoguajira, Luis Medina Toro; the Director of National Parks, Julia Miranda Londoño and the General Secretary (and) of the Mayor's Office of Riohacha, Lourdes Arevalo, during the signing of the agreement signed between the three entities to strengthen institutional actions in the Los Flamencos Sanctuary.
Corpoguajira has managed to coordinate efforts with National Parks and the Mayor's Office of Riohacha, to strengthen the presence and institutional actions in the Sanctuary; For this reason, the signing of a three-year association agreement was formalized., in order to develop joint work and strategies that contribute to the conservation of natural and cultural values, as well as strengthening governance in the Los Flamencos Fauna and Flora Sanctuary and its area of influence for the benefit of the protected area., local communities and the region.
