The United Nations General Assembly, proclaimed 22 May each year, as the International Day for Biological Diversity, as a way to increase understanding and awareness of the threats facing biodiversity worldwide.
To commemorate this important date, Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, He developed an environmental education program in which they participated under the Child Development Center of Villamartin (Riohacha).
The activity was supported by the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare and the NGO Green Guajira.
Another event supported by the Corporation to celebrate in this environment day , was the conversation about recycling and biodiversity, Students participating in the Program of Biological Sciences at the University of La Guajira, representatives of the Mayor of Riohacha, the Ecoseda Organizations, Funcaeco , Preserve, Ecological Police and Interaseo.
