With reforestation Corpoguajira joins the celebration of Arbor Day

 

The 12 October 2015 Arbor Day is celebrated, to commemorate this important environmental date Corpoguajira leads several days of massive cultivation entire department.

Exmotosierristas participate in the activity that today are part of social and labor reconversion program, which they are currently cultivators of native trees in the region. Additionally local community leaders who design strategies linked to combating climate change, environmental overseers and youth network environment, Rondon group of Buenavista, Foundation Covers, the Seine, the Ecological Police, educational institutions and indigenous communities.

The campaign started on 1 October with planting 70 trees in the community of Tamaquito (Barrancas) and he 2 October continued with the planting 200 copies in the neighborhood Wishes (Riohacha). During the course of the month, Corpoguajira with other civil organizations and even military, will continue with the massive reforestation along the departmental geography to reach the goal of a thousand trees drawn in the program. The sites chosen for cultivation obey the soil conditions and the commitment of the community to care for them as they grow.

The trees are planted shade and fruit as soursop, mango, medlar, the, moringa, inter alia.
