Corpoguajira controls and the National Police, contribute to the reduction of wildlife trafficking

During operatives confiscated 600 Kg of sea cucumber.

A total of 75 wildlife specimens have been seized in recent days in La Guajira, in different operations carried out by the National Police, as part of the actions carried out in coordination with the environmental authority, to control this scourge in the peninsula.

The seized specimens have been Canaries (Sicalis flaveola), Sinsontes (Mimic gilvus), Owlets (Sporophila intermediate), Cardinal Guajiro (CARDINAL Duninald), among other species.

The controls have been carried out in Mingueo (Dibulla), Villa Martin (Riohacha) and Manaure, municipality in which they were confiscated 600 kilograms of sea cucumber, who were later cremated.

The animals have been delivered to officials of Corpoguajira and the Ecological House, who are in charge of their evaluation and rehabilitation. Many of the specimens were released into their natural habitat, which corresponds to the dry forest.

Corpoguajira and National Police, They will reinforce operations throughout the department, with the firm intention of eradicating this type of actions, which threaten the biodiversity of the region.
