In search of the conservation of species and the generation of sustainable activities that allow communities to benefit from and take advantage of the presence of species in their territories for ecotourism purposes, Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, formulated project "IMPLEMENTATION OF CONSERVATION PLANS FOR THREATENED WILDLIFE SPECIES, STAGE 1, DEPARTMENT OF GUAJIRA ", under the guidance of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and approved with resources from the general royalty system, projects that are part of the implementation of the action plan 2016 – 2019 that have the Prosperity approach, Peace and Sustainability.
The implementation of plans will be developed in the municipalities of Dibulla, Riohacha, Manaure, Maicao, Uribia, India, Hatonuevo, Barrancas, Fonseca, San Juan del Cesar, Villanueva, El Molino and Urumita, with the objective of developing conservation for threatened wildlife species. La Guajira is identified as a territory that has important areas for bird conservation - AICA, with the largest representation of the country's biodiversity.
During the 8 months of execution the information on the conservation status of fauna species will also be updated, diagnoses of existing conservation plans will be updated, diagnoses of paujil and native bees, will follow the pink flamingo, her son, Andean bear and condor, will generate participatory processes of environmental education and culture, carry out awareness workshops and implement pilot demonstration actions.
For Corpoguajira it is essential to arrange projects with the communities that benefit, in order to provide accurate information and resolve concerns, adopt suggestions, so they can exercise social control during the execution of the project.
