The works will be focused on the creation and optimization of a strategic plan for the environmental monitoring and control of noise generations in the urban area of the city.. It is intended to quantify and evaluate the sound pressure emissions of machinery, music equipment, automotive traffic, inter alia; to establish if the results are in accordance with the maximum levels allowed by Colombian regulations.

Through this initiative, the entity complies with the provisions of the Resolution 627 of 2006, issued by the Ministry of Environment, which establishes the obligation to implement noise decontamination plans in the municipalities and cities of each Department. Reason why with this project, the Corporation advances a strategic plan, that allows, based on the noise map, manage a plan that minimizes and controls the main sources of noise emissions, to prevent harmful effects towards the exposed community.

According to what was stated by the Engineer Javier Calderón Oliver, the project was socialized with 21 Riohacha community leaders, who were told that their support is important to achieve noise control in the municipality. In the same way, it was emphasized that complaints should be made of all those activities and events that generate excessive emissions and that disturb the tranquility of the residents of the different neighborhoods of the capital.; Problem that in the future will be reflected in the deterioration in the health of adults, Young people and children.

The Corporation, due to the multiple complaints received about excess noise emissions and disturbance of tranquility, especially in the night hours, chose to send a statement to the municipal administration, to articulate efforts to exercise greater control in those noisy establishments and to limit the issuance of permits to the holding of public and private events. A call was also made to the National Police to restrict prying and control the excessive use of music devices in vehicles, which have become a mobile source of environmental noise, that affects the health and tranquility of people.

At Present, Corpoguajira is awaiting the final results of the study, in order to issue an administrative act that allows to control these practices, that without a doubt, contribute to the disturbance of the tranquility of the community in general.
