La Guajira is inhabited mostly by indigenous Wayuu, which are settled in marginal areas, infrastructure away from basic sanitation.
Given the above, Corpoguajira initiated significant actions to contribute to improving the quality of life of the Wayuu; so as a total 25 indigenous communities in Riohacha, Uribia, Maicao y Manaure, have been benefited from the water by tanker vehicles.
This program also includes a series of awareness sessions, which are intended to provide tools to families who receive the precious liquid, on best sanitation practices, alternative methods of harvesting and efficient use and saving of water.
The tasks are performed through the area of Management and Water Use, of Corpoguajira. The supply is performed by a pre-programming that includes the delivery of 280 cubic meters of water, weekly.
