The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira has been carrying out different actions that allow sensitizing and raising awareness in the general population about the care that should be taken with water, ecosystems, the environment and also how to prevent forest fires. Además, Green business initiatives are promoted and inter-institutional work is done to generate a change towards a circular and sustainable economy that benefits people and the planet.
For the commemoration of International Mother Earth Day, the environmental authority accepts the UN proposal to develop activities around climate change: Causes, consequences and resilience, and will implement a Webinar called Comprehensive Climate Change Management in the department of La Guajira: challenges and opportunities, to which they can connect by entering the following link: https://meet.google.com/xpg-ikaw-cbz .
The conference will feature prominent professionals who will address four views on the subject. In the business part there will be the participation of Phd Francisco Madriñán, Director of Cerrejón; as for the academy, Marta Ligia Castellano Phd in Soil Conservation and coordinator of the master's degree in Comprehensive Climate Change Management at Sue Caribe; the institutional approach will be in charge of the engineer Yovany Delgado, who represents Corpoguajira in the Territorial Node of Climate Change of the Caribbean Coast and the ethnic part with the researcher and cultist Guillermo Ojeda Jayariyu.
The second activity programmed by the Corporation is the interaction with the followers through social networks, that seeks to exchange content about Mother Earth from successful initiatives to care for her, as well as actions that demonstrate the lack of awareness of man as responsible for his environment. The contents will be tagged with the #diainternacionaldelamadretierra and #restaurarlatierra.
The 22 April has been proclaimed as International Mother Earth Day, recognizing that the earth and its ecosystems provide life and sustenance throughout existence. It also involves the responsibility of promoting harmony with nature and the earth in order to achieve a fair balance between economic needs., social and environmental conditions of present and future generations. More than 55 million trees, betting on zero deforestation in the 2030, each planted tree allows each Colombian to breathe better.
