Through the signing of a memorandum of understanding, the operating regulations were socialized by Corpoguajira; by which it was established that the actors that make up the node will work in coordination during the next three years.

 

During the days 8 and 9 September, Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, held the Second Meeting of the Caribbean and Island Regional Climate Change Node, where the members who become part of the node met, the approval of the operating regulations and the beginning of the formulation of the regional action plan.

The node strategy, It is aimed at promoting the implementation of practices that contribute to the adaptation and reduction of the effects of climate change in the Caribbean region., based on the national climate change policy guidelines designed by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.

Within the framework of this exercise, the Climate Change Directorate of the MADS has the function of directing the regions for the formulation and implementation of territorial plans for adaptation to climate change., with which it is expected to identify and prioritize adaptation measures that take advantage of regional synergies and potential to reduce climate risk in the territories.

The Director of the Climate Change Office of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development participated in the development of the agenda., Doctor Rodrigo Suárez and the experience of the climate change node of the Orinoquia was known.
