With the purpose of formulating and implementing in the area of ​​jurisdiction of Corpoguajira, a plan to promote the comprehensive management of Hazardous Solid Waste (RESPEL), with emphasis on those strategies that have been defined as priorities, This Corporation signed a service provision contract with the company Ecoplanet, through which direct actions will be designed and implemented that allow environmentally safe management of this waste.

As part of the project, important activities will be carried out, Among them, a complete training cycle aimed at entities in the sector such as generators stands out., managers and control entities; they will also advance 23 days of surveillance and environmental control visits to companies that generate hazardous solid waste; This process also contemplates the increase in 100 RESPEL Issuer Registry Database Records.

With the launch of these activities, Corpoguajira complies with the provisions of Colombian laws and complements its functions in terms of prevention, inspection, health control and surveillance, among which are among others:

– Report annually (January) to IDEAM, the information collected through the generator registry.

– Generate or disclose information in the area of ​​your jurisdiction about the amount, quality, type and management of waste or hazardous waste, based on the information collected in the generator registry.

– Inform the general public, the list of recipients or facilities authorized for storage, treatment, use and/or recovery and final disposal of waste or hazardous waste in its jurisdiction.

– Encourage programs aimed at research to promote the change of polluting production processes for clean processes; Likewise, encourage in the productive sector the identification of opportunities and alternatives for cleaner production that prevent and reduce the generation of waste or hazardous waste..

– Carry out informative activities, awareness and educational activities in such a way as to promote the comprehensive management of waste or hazardous waste in the area of ​​its jurisdiction..

– Promote in the productive sector the development of self-management activities and procedures that contribute to comprehensive management of waste or hazardous waste..
