The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, fulfilling his social work in the department, establishes a series of agreements with entities, educational institutions and community organizations, in order to donate the wood seized in operations, for the use of the common good.
In past days, the Corporation through a verification commission, was able to verify that the forest product delivered to the Association of Wayuu Traditional Authorities- Kapuranchi, was used as stipulated in the agreement, for the construction of the Pancho bridge.
Delivery of 4.14 m3 of wood from the puy and caracolí species; wood products, according to its characteristics, suitable for the construction of infrastructure as required by the community.
Before delivering any wood, the Corporation must verify (during 6 months), if the seized product was obtained illegally. If so, the entity issues a resolution indicating definitive confiscation, for later donation.
According to the articles 47 and 53 de la Ley 1333 of 2009, where it indicates that once this confiscation was decreed, The environmental authority may dispose of the assets, wood products and by-products for use by the entity and deliver it to public entities to facilitate the fulfillment of functions.
In 2016 The Corporation signed other agreements with:
- Livio Reginaldo Fischione Educational Institute (Riohacha), for construction of an ecological classroom within the campus.
- Kogi Reservation, far, Arhuaco (Dibulla), for house construction, community kitchen, double sanitary unit and three bowers.
- Mechanized Battalion No. 6 Cartagena (Riohacha), for the construction of pews and other elements for the chapel.
This year, An agreement has just been signed with the National Police, where the institution requested a donation of wood for the construction of various elements that will be used in the rural area in Pondores (Fonseca).
