The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira (Corpoguajira) and the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Idea), will carry out the Informative Workshop Phenomenon of 'El Niño': Tracing, Efectos Climáticos y sus Impactos.

The event will be chaired by the General Director of Corpoguajira, Luis Manuel Medina Toro and the Director of Ideam, Omar Franco Torres.

During the development of the activity, that will take place on 9 December 2014, to 2:00 pm in Corpoguajira (Cra 7 No 12 – 25, Riohacha), Aspects related to the current and future conditions of the climate variability phenomenon will be addressed..

Representatives of the Committees have been summoned (departmental and municipal) Risk Management, media, officials of the Government of La Guajira, entes territoriales, relief agencies, community leaders, National Police, National Army, entre otras entidades.

According to the climate prediction models studied by Ideam, the El Niño Phenomenon, registers a high probability of occurring, again, starting this month and could extend until March 2015.
