
The project will be advanced training and research projects directed to the conservation of fauna and flora implemented, present in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Director Corpoguajira, Luis Manuel Medina Toro; will chair the 26 February 2014, the inauguration of the Sugueja Nature School; a wonderful place located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Width between the rivers and Palomino (department of La Guajira), where bio-visitors can enjoy a unique experience, to reflect on the relationship between man and his environment.
The School will be a setting that will allow eco-tourism to be transformed into bio-visits and a meeting with the Kogi indigenous people., the opportunity to take a new stance toward nature. Further training will be advanced and lines of research aimed at the conservation of species such as Guáimaro be implemented, with interest, Marimonda, Curassow, Morrocoy, inter. Actions will also be articulated with the School of Nature and Knowledge, based in France.
Nature lovers will have a wonderful experience, where you can admire the majesty of the Buenavista Nature Reserve. Durante el recorrido, also they have the opportunity to share with the Arhuaco Indians and become part of their ancient traditions. The descent is made by the Palomino river, up to its mouth in the Caribbean Sea.
Prior to project implementation, Corpoguajira and the Kogi, conducted a consultation from the indigenous ancestral vision, considering that for the ethnic groups living in the Sierra Nevada, this ecosystem is the place that concentrates all responsibility to the rest of the universe and is the site from where it is monitored and custody sacred and vital for the planet.
The event will take place in the district of Río Ancho (Dibulla), from the 9:00 am, at the Santa Bárbara farm.
