To ensure understanding of concepts about the effects of climate change on communities, The Corporation has been advancing together with different educational institutions in the department, activities aimed at motivating and raising awareness among minors about the consequences of this environmental impact.
For this reason, in the facilities of the Indigenous Higher Normal School, The XVII version of the Science Fair was held, Technology and Creativity “Climate Change”: causes and consequences", where the seven existing educational institutions in Uribia participated.
It should be noted, that for this version, the “Project Mobile” experiment, an initiative presented by the eighth grade students of the Alfonso López Pumarejo Educational Institution, became the winner of the open category. The proposal consists of a projector made with recyclable material, that does not need electrical energy and that allows the socialization of photos through the cell phone, school presentations, among other functions; that turn this novelty into a valuable educational tool, in a municipality where electricity service fluctuations are constant.
Similarly, chemical experiments were presented, programming(inventions and home automation), cultural, environmental awareness projects among others to be awarded in six categories.
Through the generation of these spaces of citizen convergence, Corpoguajira in alliance with the educational sector of the department, generate environmental awareness that promotes responsible use of natural resources and care for the environment with good practices.
The educational institutions that participate year after year in the execution of the Science Fair, technology and creativity, and that allows the successful ideas of the student community to be rewarded are CDI (Child Development Center), educational institution Alfonso López Pumarejo, Julia Sierra Iguaran, Green Path, San José Indigenous Boarding School, Kamusushiwoù and the Higher Normal School.
