The Director General of Corpoguajira, Luis Manuel Medina Toro, will give a special recognition to the National Police (La Guajira), to highlight the joint work, between the two entities, in the exercise of functions of prevention and effective control over the illegal trafficking of fauna, flora, minería ilegal y la realización de actividades tendientes a conservar y proteger la biodiversidad del departamento.

The event will take place 5 November 2013, to 9:00 am, at the National Police facilities, en el marco de la celebración de su aniversario 122.

Los reconocimientos se oficializaron a través de la Resolución 1696 of 2013 expedida por Corpoguajira, to exalt the environmental merit of Lieutenant Colonel Elber Velazco Garavito, Commander of the National Police, Department of La Guajira; Captain Edwin Antonio Díaz Medina, Highway Police Commander; Superintendent Claudia Cecilia Eraso Visvicus, Commander of the Environmental Police and Lieutenant Jorge Iván Ángel Huérfano, Commander of the Carabineros Mobile Squad.

The recognition will also be given to several Mayors, Subintendentes y Patrulleros, que hacen parte de la institución policial.
