CORPOGUAJIRA MAKES POSTHUMOUS RECOGNITION TO OUTSTANDING INDIGENOUS LEADERS, WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE CONSERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES

They are Néstor Vanegas Ipuna and Ramiro Epinayu Uriana, his legacy will remain forever.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira - Corpoguajira paid posthumous tribute to two outstanding indigenous leaders, who contributed to the conservation of natural resources. They are Néstor Vanegas Ipuana and Ramiro Epinayú Uriana.

The first of them, was recognized for his commitment and dedication to the care of strategic ecosystems in the department, especially the Lower Ranchería River Basin, tireless leader who championed community processes for the conservation of the environment and its species.

Meanwhile, Epinayú Uriana, was exalted for his entire dedication to caring, rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife in the Peninsula, strategic ally for the conservation of species and processes that allowed the restoration of ecosystems in La Guajira. He was an outstanding worker of the Fundación Casa Ecológica.

The recognitions were granted by the General Director of the Samuel Lanao Robles Corporation and the Board of Directors of the entity. Family members were grateful and moved for highlighting the work of those who have always seen fit to contribute to the care and preservation of the environment and natural resources..
