The works include collection works, adductions, gritter, pumping station, drive line, treatment plant, storage tank and distribution networks. The aqueduct will provide drinking water to thirty-seven families in this township, that live dispersedly in an area of ​​five hectares.

The water resource will be captured from the Barcino River. La Loma del Potrero is inhabited by indigenous communities settled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta..
