CORPOGUAJIRA DRIVES "circular economy" through recycling

Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, CORPOGUAJIRA has been developing a process of advice and support to communities affected by the disposal of solid waste; This proposal proposes training for citizens interested in forming local groups to promote environmental education through recycling..

Strategy that to date has been successfully implemented in the town of Cañaverales in the municipality of San Juan del Cesar and the municipality of El Molino, allowing the formation of work groups that have been trained in solid waste management and classification, organic fertilizer production, making crafts from waste and other essential topics for the development of the strategy.

The theoretical stage ended with a day that allowed them to put into practice what they learned at the Classification and Use Station. (ECA) implemented in the municipality of La Jagua del Pilar. The above, product of the initiative led by the municipal administration and administered by the Multiactive Recyclers Cooperative of La Jagua del Pilar (COOPREJAP) organization that brings together about 25 women heads of family.

During the completion of this practice, the apprentices toured the solid waste classification and composting manufacturing sections.; receiving guidance from experienced organizational staff, commercialization, perseverance and projection.
