Ecodato: environmental authority differentiated approach leads projects supporting ethnic groups.

Corpoguajira has among its aims to strengthen the environmental management component sector and urban, by performing actions related to counseling, prevention training, control and mitigation focused on promoting and guiding the adoption of sustainability criteria in the management of the productive sectors and institutions.

Through Project Implementation sectoral program and urban environmental management in the municipalities of La Guajira, which it aims to improve environmental quality, make rational use of natural resources, protect the environment and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the 15 municipalities in the department of La Guajira.

Concerned about the indiscriminate felling of trees with chainsaws, ax, Cutlass and poisoning mulched, the illegal collection of water resources, collecting and selling charcoal, strong health problems, wildlife hunting and loss of production soils are some of the factures prompting the implementation of this project.

Given that La Guajira has high structural fragility of the natural ecosystem reflected in the indicators of poverty and inequality in the population reaching indices 67% and 32.5%, associating with the lack of environmental education.

He was initiated socialization of the project in different municipalities of the department, raising awareness of the benefits that will have its implementation, as will be the technical and logistical of 24 School Environmental Projects (PLEDGE) and 4 University Environmental Projects (Prau).

So too, The installation of 3 environmental documentation centers in public libraries for community service, the promotion and implementation of national policy on environmental education adapted to the productive sectors, citizens training in environmental education projects (PROCEED) towards good practices of sustainable production and consumption and for community tree planting in social housing and public spaces in urban areas.
