The Corporation is awaiting the environmental impact study by the mining company, to issue a definitive concept

The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, to make clear to the media and the general community, that through trade 0633 the 22 February 2011, this entity issued technical concept to the company CCX, on corridors proposed by the mining company for the construction of the railway line.

The environmental authority after analyzing the physical aspects, Biotics, socioambientales, technical, demand for use and exploitation of natural resources and environmental zoning; It stated that the alternative that represents less social and environmental involvement is the broker for the plain (Fonseca, Barrancas, Hatonuevo, Cuestecitas, Barbacoas, termites, Tigreras and Mingueo).

To the date, Corpoguajira has not been formally expressed about the viability of the route of the railway line along this corridor CCX, because the company has not submitted environmental impact studies, on which the Corporation recommended to do a thorough analysis, as these must take into account the regional planning (POT, POMCAS) and planned socio-economic development in the department.
