Corpoguajira fue seleccionada como una de las entidades nominadas al Premio a la Eficiencia Energética, organizado por la Asociación Nacional de Empresas de Servicios Públicos (Andesco), Ministry of Mines and Energy, Mining and Energy Planning Unit (Upme) y Findeter. The environmental agency participated in this competition with the implementation of a pilot project as a clean development mechanism in facilities Corpoguajira, which it consists of a photovoltaic power system for studies and evaluation that have driven this technology between the union of farmers and private companies, as Guajira Tours.

Among the achievements of this innovative management, which has the support of the Seine and Upme, Corpoguajira in two years has saved a total of approximately $ 97.000.000 in the service of power and has stopped issuing 74,920 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

The contest is organized in order to recognize the commitment and good practices implementation and dissemination in efficiency and management, by the companies in the country. Corpoguajira participates in the category public bodies and local authorities, sharing the nomination with the Mayor of Bucaramanga and the Botanical Garden José Celestino Mutis.

The award ceremony will be held on Friday 26 de junio de 2015 to 9:00 a.m., under the 17th National and International Congress of Public Services Andesco, TIC y TV, in the Convention Center of Cartagena de Indias.
