The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira (Corpoguajira), aprobó el proceso de confirmación y mantenimiento de la Certificación de Calidad ISO 9001:2008, NTCGP 1000:2009 y la Certificación Internacional IQ Net; by the Colombian Institute of Technical Standards (Icontec International), by implementing policies, planes, programs and projects on the environment and renewable natural resources in the area of ​​jurisdiction, ensuring available, administration, management and use; accordance with the regulations, standards and guidelines, expedidas por el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible.

Este logro, que se obtuvo con cero no conformidades, es el resultado del trabajo y compromiso directo de todos los funcionarios de Corpoguajira, entidad que no tuvo necesidad de contratar asesorías externas para la renovación, con la cual se fortalece la implementación del Sistema de Gestión de Calidad, under the guidelines of the ISO technical standard 9001:2008, lo que permitirá garantizar la prestación del servicio por parte de la Corporación, based on quality and continuous improvement, through the strengthening of all the processes of the environmental authority.

La certificación ISO 9001:2008 proporciona una base sólida para un sistema de gestión de la calidad, in terms of satisfactory compliance with the requirements of the sector and excellence in performance; características compatibles con otros requisitos y normas, como el Sistema de Gestión Ambiental, security, salud ocupacional, Food safety, inter alia.

La certificación NTCGP 1000:2009, allows State entities to demonstrate that they meet the requirements of a quality management system, as required by law 872/2003. It makes it easier for institutions that comply with the standard to demonstrate their improvement, performance and ability to provide products and services that meet the needs and expectations of its customers. Mejora la imagen de las entidades públicas ante sus clientes, ciudadanos y entidades de control, for having a certified quality management system.

Por su parte IQ Net es una red que integra a las entidades certificadoras más importantes del mundo (entre ellas Icontec), ésta Certificación permite a las organizaciones internacionalizar sus productos y servicios.
