The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira - Corpoguajira- During a session of the Board of Directors, he recognized the Manaure Fishing Association Tesoro del Mar, for his work in favor of the conservation of marine ecosystems, endangered species and the practice of responsible fishing.

The recognition was received by Javier Martínez, the same fisherman who in days past voluntarily decided to return the whale shark (Rhincodon typus) to its natural habitat and prevent the community from sacrificing it, thus preserving a species that is threatened internationally and its presence is considered rare and scarce.

The fisherman from Manaus was pleased by the initiative of the corporation by praising it "this incentive gives me great joy because Corpoguajira recognized my good deed by deciding to release the whale shark and allow it to continue sailing", also considered that "it is a starting point, so that the other members of the community become aware of the care that must be taken to endangered species ”and he also pledged to continue working for conservation.

Meanwhile, the general director, Samuel Lanao Robles, described the behavior of the Tesoro del Mar Fishing Association as a heroic and responsible act derived from the environmental education that fishermen have had. "If you can act responsibly with the endangered nature and wildlife", emphasized.
