Illegal trafficking of wild flora and fauna and environmental education campaigns are some of the tasks carried out

The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, participated in the commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the Special Unit for the Building of Peace - UNIPEP and gave recognition to each of the members of the basic unit of Carabineros No. 25 of Pondores, highlighting the commendable work that men and women have developed during these five years and the support they have been providing to the environmental authority in the exercise of their functions.

Among the functions carried out, those related to the control of illegal traffic of wild flora and fauna stand out., environmental education campaigns, permanent accompaniment in carrying out visits aimed at dealing with complaints presented by the community, for the commission of environmental offenses.

The work carried out by UNIPEP has made it possible to significantly impact the proper management of natural resources and the environment in general., in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Fonseca (Rabbit village, vereda Pondores, the Puy, inter alia).

The commemoration ceremony was carried out with all biosafety protocols, at the Hotel Guajira Real in the municipality of Fonseca and had the participation and accompaniment of the Secretary of Government and Administrative Affairs of Fonseca, Nilson Vidal; the Secretary of Government and Administrative Distraction Affairs, Marco Solano; Agency Coordinator for Reincorporation and Standardization ARN Cesar - La Guajira, Angelica Agamez; UN regional chief Frances Charles; and the deputies of Oriana Zambrano and Micher Pérez.
