Starting today Corpoguajira participates in the International Conference for Renewable Energies, an initiative led by the Regional Seine La Guajira, to promote a scenario that allows spaces for cooperation between the research and business fields, promoting energy education and culture, in addition to the economic and social benefit with environmental awareness.

During the opening ceremony, the General Director of Corpoguajira, Luis Manuel Medina Toro, presentó la ponencia «Energías renovables como resiliencia para enfrentar los efectos del cambio climático», in which he highlighted the importance of turning the vision towards alternative energy sources such as solar or wind, to use the planet's resources sustainably, diversify economies and successfully face the challenge posed by climate variability phenomena; all of the above taking into account that the department has exceptional conditions for the generation of these energy sources, like strong winds and high solar radiation.

 

Corpoguajira also participates in this event with an institutional stand to socialize with those attending the congress its environmental publications and the entity's corporate programs., aimed at contributing to the sustainability of the environment and the development of the region.

The event seeks, also, strengthen local research and technological innovation capacities with the active participation of young entrepreneurs, professionals, investors, public institutions and entrepreneurs to appropriate knowledge, experiences and awaken an entrepreneurial and innovative mentality.

The thematic axes that will be developed until 20 November, at the Anas Maí convention center are: public policies and development of renewable energies; energy education and culture; integrated renewable energy systems and their storage and innovation, entrepreneurship and application of renewable energies.
