The highest environmental authority, participated in the National Climate Change Meeting, organized by the Colombian Red Foundation for the defense of Human Rights, the environment and peace; held in Tayrona Park (Santa Marta).

One of the objectives of this Meeting is to generate a space for dialogue, debate and construction of agenda between social organizations and sectors of civil society; facing the problem of climate change, in a post-conflict approach and in the perspective of the challenges created by the new bets that are promoted in the country in this area.

In that sense, the Corporation participated in the panel: Opportunities and challenges facing climate change in Colombia. Likewise, the general director, Luis Medina Toro, spoke in front of a group of young people from different regions of the country, the importance in the execution of dynamics in order to enhance the empowerment of communities in the face of the challenges that climate change imposes on us.

The purpose of this meeting is to evaluate the scope of the new decree 298 of 2016 and the reformulation of the Climate Change Nodes in Colombia, the implementation of comprehensive plans and the challenges facing the Paris Agreement.
