The activity was coordinated by the Civic Committee of the department and the University of La Guajira.

The entity was represented by Engineer Eliumat Maza Samper, Vice principal –It- of Environmental Management, who explained during his speech the environmental management model advanced by the Corporation in the Ranchería River basin and in the Manantial de Cañaverales Protective Forest Reserve.

Maza Samper, explained each of the steps taken by the environmental authority to establish the Planning and Management Plan for this basin: summary of the studies carried out, the applicable environmental regulatory framework with its antecedents, and the process to achieve the declaration of the Cañaverales Manantial as a protected area.

Attendees approved the progress made by Corpoguajira and expressed their support for the environmental management outlined..
