The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, (Corpoguajira) It was one of the entities participating in the signing of the Pact for Legal Timber in Colombia, which aims to generate initiatives to reduce the environmental impact caused by illegal logging, in which are calculated over 330 hectares of forest lost per year.

The pact was signed by more than forty organizations in the public and private sectors and civil society, including the Association of Regional Autonomous Corporations and Sustainable Development, which is part Corpoguajira.

The event, Realized in the presidential palace attended by the President of the Republic, Juan Manuel Santos, who said that the goal of the pact is to ensure that all wood is removed, is marketed and used in Colombia, comes only from legal sources.
