Strengthen the development of La Guajira Colombo-Venezolana, was the objective of the binational meeting held between Luis Medina Toro, General Manager Corpoguajira, the Governor of the State of Zulia, Francisco Arias Cardenas; the President of Corpozulia, Pedro Alastre and the Director of Corpocesar, Kaleth Villalobos.
during the meeting, made in Maracaibo (Venezuela), topics related to ecotourism were analyzed, conservation of biodiversity and the reactivation of projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of border towns, mainly from the Wayúu indigenous people.
The participating organizations agreed to work on the design of projects aimed at conserving the ecosystems that the two countries share., such is the case of the Montes de Oca Protective Forest Reserve, Serranía de Perijá and the Carraipía-Paraguachón river. These initiatives will be presented to different international cooperation organizations.
A second work table will be held in Riohacha, in the month of January 2015. National entities and territorial entities that share a border with the neighboring country will be summoned..
