The Corporation socializes the strategy of payments for environmental services, in which organizations that receive an economic incentive for being guardians of protected areas participate.

The fair is consolidated as the most important environmental sector event in Latin America.

The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, participates in the International Environment Fair, FIMA 2021, space that promotes sustainability actions, caring for ecosystems and biodiversity, strengthening synergies between professionals, buyers and exhibitors to socialize environmental products and services, managing to be the ideal meeting point for the different actors in the chain. The event takes place in Bogotá and will end next 2 October.

During the event, Corpoguajira presents the management carried out by the Green Business program, related to the project of payments for environmental services, through which economic incentives are delivered to the communities that contribute to the preservation of the protected areas of the Department; In this sense, the delegation of the entity has the special participation of representatives of different organizations that exercise the role of environmental watchdogs in these conservation areas..

"In this version of FIMA we are supporting the participation of the Guardians of the Environment and Peace group, those who socialize the work we do together for the preservation of our regional protected areas. In addition, make known the natural riches of La Guajira and the strategy of payment for environmental services, which allows us to strengthen actions for the conservation of water basins and forests. Visitors to the Corpoguajira stand, They will be able to know the work carried out by the Fundación de Vigías Ambientales de Montes de Oca, the Cooperativa Multiactiva Fundando Esperanza in Los Remedios, the Guardians of the Spring Environmental Watch Foundation, the José Ladeus Environmental Watch Foundation, the Vigías de la Serranía de Perijá Foundation and the Cooperativa Agroindustrial de Campesinos Relocated in Garrapetero.

"Taking into account that protected areas are fundamental for the conservation of biodiversity and natural capital of the department, Corpoguajira supports and provides accompaniment to the productive units that provide the service of environmental guardians in these important areas and develop their economic activity such as eco and ethno-tourism.. The seventh version of FIMA 2021 has as guest of honor the European Union, in whose pavilion the work carried out in Colombia on environmental issues and in the fight against climate change is socialized.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, in alliance with Corferias.
