The public accountability hearing, It was held in Bogotá and had the participation of the Regional Autonomous Corporations and other entities that have invested resources from the National Calamity Fund – Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, to address and restore environmental conditions in areas affected by the winter wave, mitigating its effects and preventing new emergency situations.
In this sense, Corpoguajira and the Ministry of Environment, They joined forces to carry out works in San Juan del Cesar, Fonseca, Riohacha, La Jagua del Pilar, El Molino, Dibulla, Villanueva, Maicao y Albania; por valor de $23.000 millones.

During the hearing, which was chaired by the Minister of the Environment, Frank Pearl González; the General Director of Corpoguajira Arcesio Romero Pérez, explained in detail the progress of each of the projects carried out on the peninsula, including recovery work on several stretches of eroded rivers, through the construction of channeling works, channeling and gabion works in longitudinal and breakwater type walls, for the protection and recovery of the banks of the Cañaverales rivers, Cease, Reeds, Paraguachón, Tomarrazón, El Molino, Villanueva and Tabaco stream.

During your participation, Romero Pérez, He also stated that the entity is working on the construction of a specific channel for surface runoff from a stream located in the urban perimeter of La Jagua del Pilar.. For its part in the Paraguachón River, Gabion construction work is carried out for the protection and recovery of the Mantilla sector, Likewise, desedimentation work on the drainage channel of the Paraguachón lagoon, adjacent to the national highway.
