Corpoguajira promueve pacto para ahorrar agua y energía en el departamento

Teniendo en cuenta el llamado realizado por el Gobierno Nacional para implementar medidas que contribuyan a mitigar los impactos del Fenómeno de El Niño, Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, It protocolizará on Tuesday 22 March 2016, the signing of the Pact for Saving Water and Energy, which will be signed between public and private entities.

The event will be chaired by the Governor of La Guajira, Oneida Pinto Pérez, Mayor of Riohacha, Fabio Velásquez Rivadeneira; the Director General of Corpoguajira, Luis Manuel Medina Toro and General Manager of Asaa, William García Medina. It will also include the participation of municipal mayors and representatives of a large number of organizations.

During the event, conducted within the framework of the celebration of World Water Day, the different parties undertake to implement measures to promote the efficient use and saving water and energy in production and service sectors; reduce the water footprint of Guajira, i.e., the impact generated by the inhabitants of the peninsula to consume liters of water to sustain their basic needs.

Additionally inter efforts will be made to develop concrete actions to address the different climatic variability events currently presented in Colombia, mainly in La Guajira and to establish a quantitative target for reducing consumption of water and energy in La Guajira, which will be monitored by Corpoguajira.

The event will take place from the 8:30 am, on Avenida La Marina, City Riohacha.
