It is the first public entity in La Guajira to receive ISO Quality Certification 9001:2008, NTCGP 1000:2009 and International IQ Net Certification. Within the framework of the event, the launch of the Environmental Atlas of La Guajira and the wildlife book of the Montes de Oca protective forest reserve will be held.
The official delivery of the certifications, It will be held on Wednesday 29 de junio de 2011, in a public event that will be attended by directors of the Corporation, representatives of ICONTEC and regional and national entities.

ICONTEC ISO certification 9001 Quality management system, provides a solid foundation for a management system, in terms of satisfactory compliance with the requirements of the sector and excellence in performance, characteristics compatible with other requirements and standards such as the Environmental Management System, occupational health and safety, and food safety, inter alia.
ICONTEC NTCGP certification 1000, allows State entities to demonstrate that they meet the requirements of a quality management system, as required by law 872/2003. It makes it easier for institutions that comply with the standard to demonstrate their improvement, performance and ability to provide products and services that meet the needs and expectations of its customers. Improves the image of public entities before their clients-citizens and control entities, for having a certified quality management system.

Within the framework of this event, Corpoguajira will launch two important works published with the support of the Corporation, are they: the Environmental Atlas of La Guajira and the Wildlife Book of the Montes de Oca Protective Forest Reserve.
The Environmental Atlas of La Guajira, It is a tool that in its 189 pages contributes to the effective practice of environmental management; In this work a modern interpretation and cartographic representation of the territory is developed, which allows the diffusion of environmental reality of the department. Through images, figures, Graphs and tables represent very characteristic cases of the territorial structures and their population.. This product was developed in association with the Atlas Temporary Union.
With the book Wildlife of the Montes de Oca Protective Forest Reserve, It is expected to strengthen the consolidation of this new protected area and contribute to the conservation of one of the most threatened ecosystems in Colombia., as is the dry tropical forest and its associated biodiversity. The work was produced in partnership with Colombia Organization Acts, which carries out environmental projects aware of the need to promote a change between human beings and nature.. Montes de Oca, It is a “Jewel of the biodiversity of La Guajira”, which includes two thirds of all amphibians known for the Caribbean region, more than half of the reptile wealth; a little less than a third of the known birds in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, and more than half of the mammals on the Atlantic Coast, on an area that is thousands of times smaller than that of any national protected area.
