The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, requested the Department of La Guajira, initiate actions aimed at minimizing and mitigating negative environmental impacts, caused by the inadequate management of public service bathrooms located on the beaches of Riohacha.
According to the technical visit carried out by officials of the Corpoguajira Control and Monitoring Group, of all the public bathrooms located on the beaches of this capital, existen 6 (two located in front of the La Guajira Governorate, two in front of the Banco de la República and two in front of the Las Delicias building), which, due to lack of maintenance, generate offensive odors that affect the environment in an approximate area of 30 meters.
According to the information obtained during the field visit, no maintenance is done to the bathrooms due to the non-renewal of the contract of the bathroom owners with the Department of La Guajira.
