Based on the law 1523 of 2012, by which the national policy of disaster risk management is adopted and the National System for Disaster Risk Management is set, the Corporation provides technical support to local authorities to identify the sectors with greatest threats to the population and adopt adequate measures for emergency management and risk reduction.
The highest environmental authority, in line with the recommendations of the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideas), It is replicating and interpreting information from weather forecasts and advancing environmental education campaigns related to climate phenomenon in order to mitigate the effects of the arrival of rains and avoid major damages in the region.
