The agreement will allow progress in the processes in the regulation and management of hydrobiological and fishing resources.
Corpoguajira and the National Aquaculture and Fisheries Authority - AUNAP, signed a memorandum of understanding to advance the processes of regulation and management of hydrobiological and fishing resources in the jurisdiction of the Corporation.
The agreement will address specific issues such as: the joint development of actions for the management of hydrobiological and fishing resources in prioritized areas of common interest; Fisheries management processes in the department of La Guajira; joint development of actions for the regulation and management of hydrobiological and fishing resources in the areas of jurisdiction of the environmental authority, including those resulting from prior consultation agreements with coastal ethnic communities, during the process of declaring regional protected areas.
Similarly, formulation and joint execution of research projects and programs, conservation, sustainable use and exploitation of hydrobiological and fishery resources; joint actions for monitoring hydrobiological and fishing resources in regional protected areas and their areas of influence; articulation of joint processes of prevention and environmental education in conservation, sustainable use and exploitation of marine resources; strengthening governance processes in the territory for conservation, sustainable use and exploitation of marine resources; surveillance and control of threatened and invasive species that allow a sustainable use of hydrobiological and fishing resources.
It should be noted that the signing of this memorandum was carried out with the support of the German Agency GIZ and the Integrated Coastal Marine Management project - MIMAC.
