A total of 53 windpumps will be repaired in the rural area of Manaure.

The Regional Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira and the municipality of Manaure, made the official delivery of the windmill of the Las Villas community. This management is part of the alliance signed between both entities for the recovery of 53 aerobombas, benefiting more than five thousand Wayúu indigenous people affected by the shortage of water due to the conditions of their territory, low rainfall and the effects of climate change.
"At the end of December we got engaged, in this same place, to deliver the mill on 11 January 2022. Today we are here fulfilling the agreed word and celebrating with the inhabitants of the area the power to have access to water, since this will guarantee an absolute improvement in their living conditions. We are pleased to see the mill running in perfect condition; It has been an excellent job that contributes to satisfying the basic needs of our Wayúu indigenous people and with food security, through the farms installed in the community ", explained Samuel Lanao Robles, General Manager Corpoguajira.
In addition, indicated that the mill is capable of pumping up to one liter of water per second, and that the work included the dismantling of the equipment for its repair, well washing, rising cylinder 2,5 a 4 inches, pumping tests and final installation.
The delivery ceremony was led by the Director of Corpoguajira, Samuel Lanao Robles, who was accompanied by several members of the Board of Directors of the environmental entity, representatives of the company Consorcio Molinos Manaure and the favored communities, which expressed their satisfaction at this intervention.
"We are satisfied and grateful because they have kept our word. We will no longer have to cross the road to look for water, which represented a danger to all of us, because we already have it right here and we can share it with other nearby communities. We are happy because they complied with us and we will no longer have the water problem ", stated Olmer Pushaiana Ipuana, community leader "
It should be noted that the works will last approximately four months and will be carried out in different rural areas of the municipality of Manaure.
